Southampton is a city on the South coast of England in the UK. The city is about 75 miles (121 kilometers) to the Southwest of London, and about 19 miles (31 kilometers) Northwest of Portsmouth.
As of 2010, the city itself had an estimated population of 239,700, and lies within a larger urban area with a population of 855,569.
